The Problem

Sprague & Sons Bicycle Shop operates in Fishers, Indiana, and was doing business through Craigslist. The owner wanted to drive business toward a website where he could display his products and set up appointments with clients.

Unlike a typical bike shop, Sprague & Sons offers vintage bicycles and parts. As such, there are two user groups I was concerned about: those who are knowledgeable about vintage bicycles and those who are completely unfamiliar with them.

The former will have expectations of what needs to be found at such a site. The latter will need to be educated on the topic. My goal was to ensure the needs and wants of one group without sacrificing the needs and wants of the second.

For this project, I adopted the wisdom of a mobile-first approach. It made the creation of the prototypes for tablent and desktop much easier.

I delivered the prototypes to the owner, who has taken them and developed his own site from the models.
